Foggy Morning in Cade's Cove
Morning came really quick, got about 4 hours of sleep after dealing with the hit and run. We got to Cade's Cove around 6 am and had to wait for the Ranger to open the gate. We were the first in line, eager to capture that morning glow. We rode thru the Cove to the spot I picked out the day before. A beautiful lane, ladled with the glow of the risen sun thru a thin layer of fog. Just the morning I was hoping for after the night from Hell. As we turned the bend to enter onto Sparks Lane, I heard the faint words of despair from my husband...."Oh no, we have a flat". (This is true,,,, you can't make up this stuff.) We pulled onto the lane and saw that the tire was flat as a pancake. I looked at him and said "You need to fix this yourself, I have to capture that morning light", and off I went, camera, set to RAW (Yes!) tripod and rubber boots. I was ready to finally get a good picture, you know it had been almost 5 days and I was shooting JPEG the whole while....this was my time and it was Wonderful!
